Getting Started
Can I try MissionGrants before subscribing?
Yes! Every plan starts with a free seven-day trial. You get full access to all features on your selected plan during the trial.
How does the grant writing workflow work?
First, you set up your organization with your mission statement, tax status, and key details — MissionGrants remembers these across all projects. Then you create a grant project, set the funder and target amount, and upload any reference documents. Choose a template, pick your AI quality level, and generate content. Refine it with follow-up prompts or your own edits until it's right. Finally, export as Word, PDF, or Excel and submit to your funder.
What file formats can I upload?
You can upload PDFs, Word documents (.doc, .docx), Excel files, plain text files, and images (JPEG, PNG). Maximum file size is 10MB per file.
Plans & Billing
What are credits and how many do I get?
A credit is used each time you ask MissionGrants to generate content. Different AI quality levels cost different amounts — Express uses 1 credit, Standard uses 2, and Deep uses 3. Plans range from 20 credits/month (Community) to 250 credits/month (Philanthropic+).
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes, you can change your plan at any time. When upgrading, you'll be charged the prorated difference. When downgrading, your new plan will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.
What if I don't use all my credits?
Unused credits do not roll over to the next month. Each billing cycle, your credit count resets to your plan limit.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel at any time from your billing settings. Your access will continue until the end of your current billing period. We don't offer refunds for partial months.
Do you offer discounts for small nonprofits?
Yes! Our Community plan at $29/month is designed to be affordable for small organizations. We also offer annual billing with 2 months free, and our Philanthropic plan helps subsidize access for community organizations.
How do higher-tier plans support community organizations?
Philanthropic subscriptions directly subsidize access for Community-tier organizations, making grant writing tools affordable for small nonprofits.
Federal Grants
What is Federal Funding Intelligence?
Federal Funding Intelligence is a feature available when you select Deep quality on any plan. Our AI is updated monthly with the latest federal grant policy changes — including SAM.gov registration requirements, agency-specific compliance clauses, OMB guidance updates, and regulatory shifts. When you generate content at Deep quality, the AI proactively flags relevant policy changes and weaves compliance awareness into your application narratives, budget justifications, and sustainability plans.
How often is the federal policy data updated?
We update our federal policy digest monthly by monitoring the Federal Register, SAM.gov, Grants.gov, OMB circulars, and agency-specific notices from USDA, HHS, DOE, NSF, and others. Each update is reviewed before it reaches your AI assistant.
Do I need to be on a specific plan to access Federal Funding Intelligence?
No — Federal Funding Intelligence is available on every plan. You just need to select Deep quality when generating content. On Community and Standard plans, Deep costs 3 credits per generation. On Premium and Philanthropic, it costs 3 credits. On Philanthropic+, every generation is always Deep quality at 1 credit.
Security & Privacy
Is my data secure?
Yes, absolutely. We take security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never share your information with third parties, and you can delete your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Your organization's data and generated content are never used to train any AI model. Your mission, your documents, and your projects stay yours.
Does MissionGrants offset its carbon footprint?
Yes. 1% of every subscription funds permanent carbon removal through Stripe Climate, making every plan net-positive for the planet.
